Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Performs microscopic detection and diagnosis of cancer, premalignant changes, and other non-neoplastic diseases, and assist with fine needle aspiration procedures under occasional guidance. Responsible for the accurate performance of laboratory tests and other duties in a manner that complies with all approved protocols. Utilizes critical thinking and problem solving skills to assure accurate and reliable clinical outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provides patient-focused care in a clinical setting through the accurate microscopic evaluation of cell samples from gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens to enable a diagnosis and assists with fine needle aspiration collection. * Actively participates in compliance and quality management activities on a daily basis and special projects as indicated. * Effectively use laboratory computer programs and medical center applications according to laboratory policies and procedures. * The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
