Ultrasonography Technologist
Distinguishing Features of the Class: Under general supervision and guidance of higher level ultrasonography technologists, an incumbent of this class performs technical work involving the application of ultrasound to designated portions of the body to assist physicians in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and abnormalities. This level is the training level used for technicians with entry level qualifications. Incumbents perform ultrasound procedures utilizing department protocol and standard protocol as outlined by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This level is distinguished from the Senior Ultrasonography Technologist in that the higher level is the full performance level. Supervision is not a feature of this class. Does related work as required.
