Medical Technician-Phlebotomy
The Medical Technician is assigned to Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System. In addition to performing phlebotomy, the employee must be able to process and package specimens for shipment and must be familiar with basic laboratory operations. The employee may be assigned to various duties according to the needs of the laboratory, which may include scheduled to work at the off-site CBOCs. IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-5 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING: ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
