Job Summary: Facilitates all components of the patient's entrance into Pratt Regional Medical Center including scheduling appointments, registering patients, and operating the switchboard. Serves as primary staff resource for day-to-day operations, training, education, and customer service. Works closely with the department manager to coordinate department activities and the work assignments of staff members. Works with department manager to orient new staff and assure training and education needs are met. Works with department manager to select, schedule, and assign staff; adjusting hours and shifts as necessary. This includes collecting and accurately entering into the computer system all necessary demographic, clinical, billing, and insurance information obtained from the patient or responsible party. Explains processes and forms to patients prior to securing signatures and ensures all documents are properly signed and witnessed as required. Communicates with patients and providers to accurately schedule appointments and enters all necessary information into the scheduling system; assists patients with any questions or concerns they have regarding their appointment.
Job Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training. Basic computer skills are required. Individual must have outstanding communication skills and have great attention to detail traits.
