SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research. May explain the procedure to patients and assist in the recovery of patients with adverse reactions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proof of one of the following:
Completion of a Phlebotomy training program
Completion of medical assistant program
Completion of an internship/training program that included venipuncture, skin puncture, patient preparation and post collection transportation/processing
Currently/actively enrolled in an RN or LPN program
Six (6) months of Phlebotomy experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
One (1) year of patient care experience working in the healthcare field
