Nemours is seeking a Lead MRI Technologist (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Weekdays

The Lead MRI Technologist will perform MRI procedures under the direction of a physician with established methods and procedures and is responsible for patient care, quality control and improvement activities, proper operation of all MRI equipment and direct supervision and training of MRI technologists. The Lead MRI Technologist will work with MRI vendors to evaluate equipment and software needs and will work closely with anesthesia, child life specialists, and nursing to optimize safety, efficiency, and flow.

• Participates in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.
• Work with radiologists to develop and optimize MRI scanner protocols. Responsible for maintaining and updating protocols at the scanner and passing this information on to the technologists.
• Oversees the performance of the MRI technologists assigned by evaluating technologists' images for technical quality and provides constructive feedback on areas where improvements can be made.
• Responsible for coordinating and resolving MRI patient issues including scheduling problems.
• Orients and trains new technologists and provides additional training to current staff members when new equipment or software are installed.
• Facilitates MRI technologist's staff meetings.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care, as attached to the annual performance appraisal document, with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, developmental age or social maturity of the patient.

• Good communication skills are required.

Job Requirements

• Associate's Degree required.
• Completion of approved ARRT program required.
• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years MRI experience required.
• One (1) to three (3) years Supervisory experience preferred.
• Florida State License required.
• ARRT advanced registry in MRI required.
• Cardiac experience and Philips experience required.
• Must be able to safely work in a MRI environment.
