Phoenix Children’s is hiring a Clinical Manager to support a specific group of programs that are across all business lines in our inpatient hospital. Specifically, this role will start by managing a team of 10 - 15 nurses in the Clinical Nurse Attending role, as well as the roll out of a revised wound care that is specifically for inpatient services.
Incumbent will have extremely strong relationship building skills, with the ability to work across organizational lines to support all inpatient service lines, as well as develop programs in conjunction with the outpatient services to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient’s safety, care and satisfaction. Must have demonstrated ability to build trust within a team, and enable staff to continue to develop their role, while simultaneously providing guidance and direction to meet goals and objectives of the organization.
Ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience in any service line/area. Must have a passion for learning, thinking outside the box and developing programs to enhance patient safety and care. Must have experience in being able to manage upward in partnering with key leaders in developing an idea, identify the tools/resources that are needed to implement, execute the plan, as well as measure results.

The Manager, Clinical Service promotes family-centered care by subscribing to and supporting Phoenix Children’s mission and values. This position manages, evaluates and supervises operational functions and activities of an assigned area by guiding and supporting staff. The Manager, Clinical Service also serves as a liaison with other departments to plan, implement, communicate, evaluate and coordinate patient care operations across the enterprise, while also facilitating quick resolution of issues to ensure excellence in a family centered care environment.
Education
Bachelor’s in Nursing. (Required)
Master’s degree in related field. (Preferred)
Experience
Five years of experience in the specialty area or with a pediatric patient population to include leadership and / or supervisory responsibilities. (Required)
Certifications
Current AZ RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
PALS certification from the American Heart Association within one year of hire. (Preferred)
National nursing or related certification (e.g. CPN, CCRN, CNML) (Preferred)
Special Skills
Analytical and statistical skills necessary to develop and monitor unit operating and personnel budgets. (Required)
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving abilities in order to resolve complex clinical, systems and personnel problems and issues which affect the unit and inpatient departments (Required)
