Carilion Clinic – located in Roanoke, Virginia –an AmSECT Pillar Award winning perfusionist team has a staff perfusionist position available in the adult cardiac surgery program to expand their current team of five perfusionists, to six.  The applicant must a have a great attitude, possess good communication skills, and be a strong team player. The perfusionist's responsibilities, in addition to all adult heart procedures include VADs, ECMO initiation and oversight (no ECMO shift work), TAVI standby, HIPEC, Angiovac, Impella 5.5, and cell saver in cardiothoracic only. The applicant would be joining five other perfusionists with equal call sharing.

The Perfusionist team has experienced zero turnover aside from 2 retirements over the last seven years and has brought consistency and quality to our Cardiac Surgery Program. The team has over 35 years of combined experience and this past year has been recognized with the AmSECT pillar award for Perfusion Excellence.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Two years of experience as a Clinical Perfusionist with a minimum of 200 perfusions for open heart surgery preferred.  Experience may be obtained in a training program.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Must be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
