Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Patient Care Technician I for the Cardiac Access/Cardiac Observation Unit at Morristwon Medical Center primarily from 6:00am-6:30pm twice a week with weekends as required.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Assisting patients with activities of daily living.
Obtaining and recording vital signs, weights and heights, preparing patients for Cardiac Cath Lab and Cardiac OR procedures.
Assisting patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges, measuring and recording I & O; performing EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
Observing and reporting changes in patients' condition to the RN.
Helping to ensure a safe care environment.
Continuous rounding throughout shift to ensure patient and family needs are met.
Ensuring patients and families have a positive patient experience by exhibiting PRIDE behaviors, rounding, collaboration, teamwork and a positive attitude.
Good communication skills.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and have positive customer service skills.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the Care Team
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
License/Certification:
BLS preferred; required within 3 months of hire
Relevant Experience:
6 months prior healthcare experience with patient care experience preferred
