Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Security Officer for the Security Department at Newton Medical Center to work 3PM - 11PM, including weekends.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate must be able to work second and third shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as required
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, as well as stand for a minimum of 4 hours at a time
The candidate must be able to attend day mandatory training during daytime hours
Proficiency with computers is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work with the departments computer system is essential
The selected candidate must be able to relate and engage with patients, visitors, and staff
The essential functions of this position include; safety tours of the facility and grounds, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations and gathering information, completing electronic reports, de-escalating violent or threatening persons
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma required
Associates or bachelor's degree preferred
High School Diploma plus Military, extensive Law Enforcement or Security experience, will be considered in lieu of associate's degree
Minimum Experience:
Prior Security experience highly preferred
Former military and law enforcement candidates preferred
Thorough background checks conducted
Reading, writing, communication and computer skills
License/Certifications:
Valid Driver's License required
SORA preferred
