Position Summary: The Diet Office Clerk assists in providing nutritional care to patients in accordance to the values, objectives and policies of the medical center. The primary responsibilities of the Diet Office Clerk are to promote adequate nutritional care through appropriate correction and modification of the patient menus, updating of diet order sheets and effective intra and inter departmental communications
Excellent written, and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work in a team environment
Possession of a valid Washington State Food Handlers Permit.
Maintain professional demeanor at all times including but not limited to the phone and diet office.
A high level of attention to detail and an ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Strong understanding of therapeutic diets.
Strong working knowledge of computers and computer programs.
Basic understanding of office equipment and procedures.
Provide a high level of customer service while assisting the patient in his/her menu choices.
