Job Summary
Primarily responsible for supervising daily operations of assigned modality. Responsible for developing and initiating improvements in the organization and delivery of high quality, cost effective radiology services. Responsible for overall quality of assigned area. Performs imaging and therapeutic procedures of assigned section when available. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range of their assigned clinical area. Responsible for all regulatory requirements of assigned sections. Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize customer satisfaction. Facilitates communication horizontally with the functional area and across the entire Division of Radiology.
Job Duties
- Primarily responsible for supervising the daily operations of assigned modality.
- Participates in establishing technical work schedules to maintain daily staffing.
- Improving imaging protocols and communicating these changes to staff.
- Develops new employee orientation and acting as primary preceptor during orientation, ensures quality control tests of equipment malfunctions or irregularities, modifying patient scheduling to accommodate emergency requests, resolves clinical issues, adjust staffing to accommodate emergency requests.
- As technical and administrative resource for technologists, accesses and develops training and educational needs of department.
- Evaluating the overall training effectiveness and communicating clinical competencies to the Team Leader.
- Provides at least one educational program per year for staff in addition to mandated Joint Commission and American Registered Radiologic Technologist trainings.
- Takes on responsibilities of Team Leader in their absence.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities of the staff Technologist.
- Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies as well as working with supply vendors and materials management to maintain efficiency and accuracy of the inventory management system.
- Imaging exams and procedure tray set up require access and handling of non-controlled medications.
