Directly supervises a team of BMET Technicians and/or Imaging Engineers. Assigns work, sets work priorities, monitors completion, and holds others accountable to department standards and expectations. Resolves customer service issues and supports departmental leadership. Capable of educating others including clinical staff on medical equipment. Fully experienced with an exceptional skill set or knowledge, works with minimal supervision; capable of serving as a trainer, mentor to junior and mid-level staff. May lead projects and monitors work performance of others. Participates in hiring activities and completion of annual performance reviews. Can work independently without daily management oversight and manage their workload and workload of others independently.
Associate's degree in Biomedical or Electronics Technology or related field or equivalent military training required.
7+ years of related experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Mastery knowledge of most clinical equipment. Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of simple clinical equipment.
Comprehensive skills related to medical devices and entry level management skills.
Significant proficiency in more than one imaging modality with as understanding of Information Technology as it relates to imaging equipment. Knowledge of data transfer programs/protocols and platforms used for medical device interconnectivity.
Comprehensive understanding of safety issues surrounding medical equipment.Has a comprehensive understanding of both local and national public safety and regulatory issues. Can apply advanced safety concepts to work and patient care environment and identify future possible issues. Manages Patient Safety Incidents, Event Reporting, and Equipment Investigations.
Ability to read, understand and apply existing contract requirements and make recommendations to contract language in areas of expertise.
Ability to build customer and vendor relationships.
Ability to interact with others in a way that promotes trust.
Ability to develop and use collaborative skills and teamwork to facilitate work goals.
Ability to modify own behavior to accommodate tasks/situations.
Ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing changes in work and responsibility.

Detailed understanding and can fully communicate the use of devices supported. Can direct others to meet departmental standards and expectations.
Highly familiar with the operations and environment that they support such ashospital, clinic, etc. Has in depth advanced experience in the clinical environment.
Ability to monitor help desk tickets and distribute incoming work to others in the department.
Highly experienced in the use of computer programs to document and track work completed. Ability to run reports and navigate through equipment database to find information.
Highly experienced in using teamwork to facilitate work goals. Can act as primary liaison with other support services departments such as IT and Facilities to resolve issues.
Ability to communicate information succinctly to groups or individuals. Communicates in a focused and compelling way to drive others thoughts and actions.
Ability to plan and organize highly complex work to assure timely and accurate completion.
Ability to identify and predict complex issues, problems and opportunities and takes action within scope of this job that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probably consequences.
Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities at a department level and may take action within the scope of this role to maximize organizational performance.
Ability to understand and apply existing vendor management policies and provide feedback on vendor performance.
Working knowledge of project management terms and methods.
Valid driver's license preferred.
BMET certification preferred.
IT certification, such as networking or A++ preferred.
Previous management experience preferred.
