This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. The Registered Nurse - Med/Surg (3N) / Telemetry (5T): Delivers safe care to assigned patients. Formulates a plan of care based on nursing assessments. Makes assignments and directs activities of other unit staff (RNs, LPNs, students, PSAs, and other team members). Documents the nursing process. Manages nursing care of patients. Effectively directs the flow of patient care and nursing resources. Effectively implements health promotion, prevention practices, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. Establishes patient care priorities that ensure safe and effective patient care. Seeks opportunities to increase knowledge and develop professionally. Attains optimal levels of functioning. Supports the dying patient and significant others. Treats all patients and families with dignity and respect. Maintains professional boundaries with patients, families, and employees. Acts as a patient advocate when patient self-determination is questioned. Commits to continued professional development. Understands changes associated with aging and principles of growth and development relevant to the adult and geriatric population. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of patients served in the assigned area of practice.
