The Psychologist is responsible for providing support to the Senior Psychologist and Stramski providers through the following: case consultation, brief therapy, case management, scoring of psychological questionnaires/measures, psychological evaluations (testing) of children and adolescents and psychoeducation. The Psychologist serves as a consultant for patient care, behavior management and staff support.
The Psychologist provides direct services to patients and their families, including psycho-educational and neuro-psycho-educational evaluations to allow coordination of appropriate levels of support and services to the patient and families. The Psychologist works with all members of the health care team and ensures that all assessed patients, families and medical team have the results within a timely manner. The Psychologist assists in the different Stramski programs/clinics, providing support, suggestions and interventions according to the bio-psycho-social and educational needs of patients. The Psychologist supports clinic work flow through administration, scoring and interpretation of psychological measures under the supervision and in collaboration with Senior Psychologist.
Essential Job Functions
Performs psychological evaluations and interventions as needed to children and adolescents to clarify diagnosis or provide results and treatment recommendations (as required). Provides crisis intervention, as well as brief individual and family therapy.
Provides outpatient psychological consultation, treatment, and teaching to meet patient and team goals and educational objectives. Involves significant others in treatment and counseling as appropriate.
Coordinates care and scheduling with team members, and maintains all required documentation in order to communicate with physicians and team members and comply with hospital, departmental, and third party payer requirements.
Provides neuropsychological assessment to assist children reintegrate into the school and social environment. Provides on-going assessment as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned while maintaining professionalism and follows ethical, APA, and hospital standards.
