First area of consideration will be given to NFFE permanent employees at Leavenworth VAMC. Second AOC will be given to EKHCS permanent employees. Third AOC will be all other US Citizens. The Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) is accountable to the Nurse Manager of inpatient located at EKHCS Leavenworth VA Campus, Kansas. The incumbent will be expected to provide nursing coverage to other nursing departments (ie. Emergency Department, COVID Supportive Operations, Medical Surgical Unit, Community Life Center, Domiciliary) during staffing shortages or periods of low unit census. Assignment may be to any of the above-mentioned units depending on current staffing needs of the service line. Work Schedule: Night shift with rotation, weekends, and holidays. However, a variety of work schedules may be available; work schedule will be determined upon selection. NOTE: May be expected to work rotating weekends and holidays. Preferred Experience: Two years of recent nursing experience in acute inpatient medical surgical setting with specialty certification preferred (CMSN, RN-BC)
