This position will be working in locations where practice dynamics change yearly to support physicians who are in training/learning to specialize in the primary care fields of family and internal medicine and/or pediatrics. This role will be responsible for assisting primary care physicians/nurse practitioners in the examination and treatment of patients to deliver quality patient care.

Job Requirements

Education

• High School Graduate or Equivalent

• A graduate of a recognized Medical Office Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Experience

• 2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant, is preferred

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Good organizational skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements:

• Assist clinician with examinations/procedures *: including but not limited to joint injections, skin procedures, pap smear, long acting reversible contraception (LARC), colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, EKG

• Flexibility to support multiple providers at different levels of learning and skill and establish relationships quickly and assist in coordination of care/chronic disease management between patients and physicians who are not available in the office full time

• Act as liaison between patients or providers and supporting services including behavioral health, patient health navigators, social work, nutrition.
