Under general supervision of the Facilities Director, performs a variety of maintenance activities to keep the facility operating, clean and sanitary.

Responsible for executing work under the direction of the Facilities Director and the requests of the nursing staff, in emergency situations.
Responsible for the appearance and cleaning of hospital and hospital grounds.
Constant alertness to needed repairs.
Abide by the maintenance and cleaning procedures.
Subject to emergency call, on off-duty hours.
Handles appliances, equipment, and cleaning chemicals in a safe manner.
Maintenance personnel are responsible for performing routine repetitive daily tasks, despite frequent interruptions.
Responsible for the organization of equipment and supplies.
Responsible for the proper use, care and maintenance of all equipment and tools used in performing maintenance duties.
Perform all other duties related to this position.
Assist other departments when necessary.
Follow all hospital policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
