The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for a highly motivated research member with a focus on the development of novel therapeutics for ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancers to specialize in translational research in gynecologic malignancies. Candidates with existing research interests that complement the current departmental programs are preferred. This individual will work as part of a team with two Gynecologic Oncologists (Gautam G. Rao, MD & Dana M. Roque, MD) and trainees (residents and medical students) and will be expected to perform most research activities independently.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., successfully completed 2 post-doctoral fellowships and their skillset should include experimental design, biospecimen processing for clinical trials, data analysis, project management, and manuscript/grant preparation. The applicant should be competent in mammalian cell culture, creation of primary cell lines, basic bacteria techniques, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, epifluorescence/confocal microscopy, cellular proliferation assays, and migration/invasion assays. Knowledge of MATLAB and experience with mouse models is advantageous. Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.
