Job Summary: Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal. Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. Possible travel to various locations in Kansas.
Job Qualifications: APRN - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) required; one or more years of hospital experience preferred; knowledge of nursing theory and practice required. Current Advanced Registered Nurse Practioner (ARNP) licensure in the Sate of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing; National Board Certification (ANCC or AANPC). BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification within the first 2 weeks of employment. PA - Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required; one or more years of hospital experience preferred. Current Physician Assistant licensure in the State of Kansas or has a temporary license from the State Board of Healing Arts; National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required or within six to twelve months of employment; BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification within the first 2 weeks of employment.
