The Clinical Educator is an experienced professional nurse who utilizes evidence-based practice for the achievement of organizational goals related to nursing education and professional practice. The Clinical Educator serves as an educator, consultant, facilitator, and resource for nursing staff. The Clinical Educator possesses in-depth scientific knowledge, technical expertise, skill, and competence. The Clinical Educator utilizes a collaborative approach to communicate among all care providers to optimize the efficiency and efficacy of patient care. In this role, the Clinical Educator is a change agent and suggests new and innovative approaches that result in sustained quality improvement.
1. Bachelorï¿½s Degree in Nursing 2. Current, unencumbered licensure to practice in the State of California 3. Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in area of expertise. 4. Computer literacy including Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) 5. Exceptional relationship management skills and professional demeanor. Must be regarded as a role model to elevate nursing, education, and professional practice. 6. Understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to apply them in course instruction. 7. Understanding of change management principles. Ability to be a change agent by being a champion for change and participating in change processes. 8. Proven ability in critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, analytical/qualitative analysis, time management and priority setting. 9. Demonstrated ability to function both autonomously and collaboratively within a team. 10. Relevant professional organization membership 11. Strong communication and leadership skills 12. Ability to work flexible hours to meet education needs of all nursing staff (day, night, weekend shifts). 13. Performs other relevant duties as assigned 14. Maintains current knowledge regarding education and regulatory requirements 15. Relevant certification in specialty area within 1 year of hire 16. NICU and Pediatrics is a shared educator role that requires CNS certification and knowledge of CCS (California Childrenï¿½s Services) standards. 17. BLS provider status current at all times 18. Current AHA provider status according to specialty: ï¿½ NICU ï¿½ NRP and S.T.A.B.L.E ï¿½ Pediatrics ï¿½ PALS ï¿½ Perinatal ï¿½ NRP and ACLS-OB ï¿½ ICU/Tele/PCU/ED/Peri-Op ï¿½ ALS
