New York University's School of Global Public Health (NYU GPH) seeks an experienced and innovative communication and public affairs professional to serve as the Associate Dean of Communications, Promotions and Public Affairs. Reporting to Dean Debra Furr-Holden, PhD and serving as a member of the Dean's cabinet, the Associate Dean will be responsible for creating and managing a comprehensive integrated communications, public relations, and branding strategy that highlights and promotes the School's unique strengths to a variety of internal and external constituencies. The Associate Dean for Communications and External Affairs will lead media relations, external affairs, internal and external communications, marketing, internal and external events, issues management, crisis and emergency communications, and digital news operations for the School, with the overall goal of telling the School's story to a broad range of audiences and helping to position the School locally, nationally, and globally to succeed and thrive.
The Associate Dean will be an accomplished communications and public affairs professional with progressive leadership experience in higher education, non-profit, or other comparable business setting. They have expertise in complex marketing systems and in the creation of multi-channeled strategic communication, marking, and public relations plans and superior oral and written communication skills. and demonstrated evidence of working with interdisciplinary academic programs. In their role as a collaborative leader, they have the ability to initiate, lead, develop, and manage the implementation of strategic and contemporary communications, marketing and public policy services to a diverse audience. The Associate Dean is an innovator and leader who can executive sophisticated strategies for diverse audiences.
